If you are on social media to build your brand I hope you are on Instagram because Facebook has started to limited your post even more than they were before AND most people that are on your friends list are not your friend because they want to support your business. They just want to either be your friend just to stay connected, which is OK and SOME just want to be nosey.
Most People on Instagram follow you because they are interested in what you are doing. Instagram is more businesslike Facebook is more for fun And personal stuff. I’m Not saying don’t use Facebook for business because it’s good for groups and boosting business post but honestly in my opinion that’s it.
Most (Not all) people are on there to be entertained by foolishness. Some people do use it for business but if you look at your friends list how many people do you think are your friend because they care about the business you created? The sad part is you can only have 5000 friends so most of the uninterested ones are taking up space on your page if you plan on using Facebook for business purposes. They are just waiting for you to post your personal business so they can watch it like an HBO special.
What I like about Instagram is the amount of people that can follow you is unlimited. Plus, you don’t have to follow them back. If they are really true fans of what you do they don’t care about a follow back. Most people follow people because they are interested in what you are doing. Instagram is the new business card. So if I had to choose one I would choose Instagram. Yes I know Facebook owns Instagram that’s not the topic here, it’s about which one is more effective when it comes to building your brand and engaging with your fans/consumers.
